2023 3D Christmas Card - Nativity Scan
Merry Christmas. This year's 3D Christmas card is a nativity scene captured with Luma.AI. I used the Luma iPhone app to capture each character in the nativity scene. I then imported each character into Twinmotion to generate the final scene. Hope you enjoy and Merry Christmas.

2D to 3D Spatial Development with Autodesk Inventor
Просмотров 569Год назад
Autodesk used to offer a technology preview called the 2D to 3D tool for Inventor. This tool allowed you to copy legacy orthographic views from AutoCAD and align them in 3D space so you could spatially develop a 3D model. The 2D to 3D tool was archived in 2016 and was never officially released into the Inventor application. A few weeks ago I needed this functionality and was amazed at how diffi...
Inventor Christmas Card 2022

This year's Inventor Christmas card was inspired by my family vacation to Legoland Florida. It was great to see the grandkids having such a good time in a park dedicated to these simple plastic bricks. While there, I saw the new Christmas Tree set which is the main focus of this video. Every time I teach an Inventor class I use Lego Minifig parts as practice exercises for building assemblies. T...

Inventor 2022 Model States - May the 4th be with you!
Просмотров 9153 года назад
A few things to start with... I Love Star Wars I Love Autodesk Inventor I'm pretty jazzed about Model States. A few days ago I was asked to prepare a simple Inventor demo themed with a Star Wars theme for May the 4th. I was extremely glad to put this together. Model States are a new workflow introduced in Inventor 2022 and them will change how we build assemblies now and into the future. This v...

Changing an Autodesk Inventor Assembly from Y-UP to Z-UP
Просмотров 16 тыс.4 года назад
There are many situations where users need to re-orient a design so that the Z axis is the upwards direction. In this tech tip we demonstrate the process of converting an Inventor assembly from the default Y-UP orientation to Z-UP.
Jimmy DiResta's Main Shop - 3D Scan Tour

Welcome to this 3D tour of Jimmy Diresta's Shop. A few months ago, while attending Jimmy's Catskill Mountain Makers Camp, My brother Tim and I had the chance to do 3D Scans of Jimmy's Workshops. Now, we are both big fans of Jimmy's projects and his RUclips channel. So when we were given complete access to these work spaces, we both recognized the great privilege and opportunity afforded to us. ...

SketchUP to Inventor

By far, the largest repository of free 3D model content is the SketchUP 3D Warehouse. There are millions of 3D models available but we have never been able to use them in Autodesk Inventor, until now. In this Tech Tip we will demonstrate the process of translating a SketchUP model and use it in Autodesk Inventor. Special Thanks Original Daffodils Model by DenDroDesign

I was expecting to be shown how to reset or adjust the YZ +X axis. Not create a new ASSY for one. Is there a method for adjusting this within the current ASSY?
That's my buddy who did that :-)
Thank you
Awesome thanks! Can you share the picture so we can follow along
I realize this is old, but I cannot make a simple Star Trek (original series) communicator. No matter what I do, including the method shown above, the holes will not align to the surface's changing normals (the antenna / lid of the device). When I got them to do something, there were error messages, with artifacts from the curves everywhere... never mind trying to use these curves (they were circles) to puncture holes.
Amazing video! You have a very good talent to explaining, its easy to pay attention by your voice.
Where did you get the png file? Looks great
Excellent
thanks, you help me a lot.!.
What if the assembly plane is 45° to your plane that you want to use? Impossible?!
This Didn't Work. It wrapped the Text, but the Text was very Distorted. The part on the top of the Sphere was normal size, But the part that wrapped got smaller and smaller. So the Letters got smaller as the curve increased, instead of staying the same size, but wrapping the curve. It only seems to NOT Distort the Letters if you bend in 1 axis, like a cylinder. Then it works perfectly. But when you add in the 2nd axis, it does all kinds on weird stuff to the letter in that 2nd axis, making the height smaller as they go towards the outside of the sphere. So say for instance, you put an H on the right side of the curve the inside (Left) of the H will be normal height, but the right side of the H will only be about 60% of the left side. It looks really off
Awesome!
Thanks for the tip!
Can you get it to work with iLogic?
This is easily the most informative piece I’ve been able to find on frame generator.
Thanks for sharing this!
Intercostal? As in intercostal muscles between ribs in anatomy? I believe this word is only used in medicine, not CAD modeling or geometry.
Pile of crap software
Excellent! Thank you!!
But...a cylinder is still in Euclidian geometry....how do you project to a spherical geometry?
wasted a day wrapping sketch to a sphere. just the message that I can only wrap to planar, cylindrical and conical faces
What is the song please?
Great tip, very useful, like and suscribe
